Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS)

YESS stands for Youth Employment and Skills Strategy. This program supports youth and young adults 15 to 30 years old who are not attending school or currently employed. The main objectives of the program are:

  • Helping youth navigate through the labor market.
  • Transitioning them into sustained employment

 

Our YESS programming may include:

Employment Counselling:

-To develop employment readiness through resume writing, developing cover letters, career planning, interview preparation and other employment-related workshops

Resume screening and matching:

-To assess if a candidate is qualified for the role based on education, experience and other information captured in the resume, job search process

Mentorship:

-To develop employment readiness and gain relevant work experience

Providing Networking opportunities:

-Connect youth to local employers, develop partnerships with employers for work placement opportunities, provide workshops, organize job fairs

Work placement:

-To help youth develop the necessary skills to transition into and maintain employment
